How does the photo engraving process work?
We spray a premium canvas with a solid white base coat, then apply a layer of deep matte black paint. A high-powered laser then burns away the black paint to reveal your photo in high-contrast white. The result is a striking, tactile piece of art — not a print.
What kind of photos work best?
High-contrast photos with clear subjects and good lighting produce the best results. Close-up portraits, pets, and wedding photos tend to engrave beautifully. Very dark photos or images with lots of fine background detail can lose definition in the engraving. You'll see a greyscale preview of how your photo will look before you order.
Is the wooden display stand included?
Yes — every easel comes complete with a wooden display stand at no extra cost. It's ready to display on a desk, shelf, or mantelpiece straight out of the box.
Can I use this as a memorial or remembrance gift?
Absolutely — many of our customers order these as memorial pieces for loved ones or pets. You can add optional engraved text (up to 50 characters) beneath the photo, such as a name and dates, or a short message. We take extra care with memorial orders to make sure they're perfect.
What file types can I upload?
We accept JPEG, PNG, and WebP image files. After uploading, you can crop and zoom your photo to frame it exactly how you want using the built-in editor. The canvas is square, so the cropper locks to a 1:1 ratio.
